If you’ve been on the Internet at all, you know that TACO CAT spelled backwards is TACO CAT. Okay, we got that out of the way, now on to the real fun facts ☺
Fun Fact #2)
A lot of people would say that taco means, “light lunch” in Spanish. It could also translate to “plug” or “wad” in the sense of a stoppage for the flow of liquids. I think maybe, “light lunch” fits more of our purpose here. Though, whenever I eat tacos it’s more like a “mega meal”. Can you eat only 1 or 2 tacos??
Fun Fact #3)
The first ever (credited) taco truck was opened by Raul Martinez in 1974. He used an old ice cream truck and parked it just outside of a Los Angeles bar. And yes, you guessed correctly, this was a HUGE success. Now you see Taco trucks all over California and the Southwest. Though, there is another account of the first taco truck being started by two New York housewives back in 1966. The date would claim that this is actually the first taco truck, though it didn’t have a full kitchen. Let’s just say both were ONE of the first taco trucks ever!
Fun Fact #4)
Americans eat so many tacos. Last year, it is estimated that we ate over 4.5 billion tacos! As the old adage goes, if you lined up all the tacos it would make a taco bridge to the moon and back!
Fun Fact #5)
National Taco Day is October 4th! It conveniently shares this day with National Vodka Day. So, mark your calendars now to take visit a taco truck, preferably El Burrito Loco, and eat your taco heart out!
If you were reading these facts while not eating tacos, I think you know what you have to do next…that’s right…order some tacos!
